Sept. 2026 - Capchem USA recently held the groundbreaking ceremony for its lithium-ion battery electrolyte manufacturing facility in Ironton, Ohio. The start of construction marks a further deepening of Capchem’s expansion strategy in North America and adds another important fulcrum to its global production network.

As a global leader in electronic chemicals and functional materials, Capchem has more than 30 years of industry experience and has built a solid international footprint across Asia and Europe. The Ohio project is Capchem’s first large-scale battery chemicals manufacturing base in North America. It is designed to enable local production and local delivery for North American customers in the energy storage, and consumer electronics, and EV sectors, meeting global customers’ growing demand for a secure and stable supply chain, and boosting the upgrading of North America’s new energy industry and the global energy diversification.
Samuel Cramblit, Mayor of Ironton, Dr. Bill Dingus, CEO of the Lawrence County Economic Development Corporation (LEDC), and Dr. Charlie Yao, CEO of Capchem USA, attended the ceremony and delivered remarks. Capchem Founder and Chairman Johnson Qin addressed the event by video. Representatives of local governments and economic development institutions, as well as the company’s key customers and local contractors, were invited to attend and witness the official groundbreaking, fully reflecting the support and expectation of all parties for the launch of the Ohio plant.
Mayor Cramblit extended a warm welcome to Capchem’s investment in Ironton, seeing the project a defining milestone in the city’s ongoing reinvention as a competitive manufacturing hub — one that will bring high-quality jobs and long-term opportunity to the community. He noted that Capchem’s commitment reflects a broader shift now underway across American industry: “Made in America” is regaining momentum and reasserting its place as a vital link in the global manufacturing value chain.
Dr. Bill Dingus noted that the Ohio project will bring high-quality manufacturing jobs and long-term industrial benefits to Lawrence County, marking an important step for the region to advance into battery materials and “future economy” sectors. He thanked Capchem for choosing Ironton for investment, and pledged that LEDC will continue to provide one-stop services to support project construction, talent training and community integration.
Dr. Charlie Yao stated that Capchem USA will advance construction and operations in strict compliance with local regulations and the highest industry standards, putting safety, environmental protection, quality and compliance as top priorities to build a benchmark factory for North American customers and provide downstream customers with stable and reliable local supply capacity.
In his video address, Capchem Chairman Johnson Qin expressed sincere gratitude to local government representatives and all partners for attending the ceremony. He pointed out that the smooth groundbreaking of the project is inseparable from the support of local governments, the long-term trust of customers and the coordinated cooperation of supplier partners. “Thank you for standing with Capchem. We have full confidence in the long-term potential of the North American market. We will continue to invest in technology, talent and operational system development, repay the support of all stakeholders with higher standards, and contribute to regional economic development and the global energy diversification.”

The year 2026 marks Capchem’s 30th anniversary, standing as a new starting point for the company. Capchem will steadily advance the construction of the Ohio base and build synergy with its bases in Poland, Malaysia and China to further improve its global production and supply network. The company will also leverage the local industrial ecosystem, deepen collaboration with customers and suppliers, cultivate a localized talent team, and fully implement its globalization strategy in the North American market.
